On August 7, 2007, the tennis world was shocked by the news that Scott Draper had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The diagnosis was a cruel blow to a man who had dedicated his life to the sport. Draper had been a rising star in the tennis world, reaching a career-high ranking of 41st in the world in 2004.

Draper was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1974. He began playing tennis at a young age and quickly showed a natural talent for the game. He won the Australian Open junior title in 1992 and turned professional the following year.

Draper's professional career was marked by both success and setbacks. He won his first ATP title in 1999 and reached the fourth round of the Australian Open in 2004. However, he also struggled with injuries and was forced to miss extended periods of time due to illness.

Despite the challenges, Draper never gave up on his dream of winning a Grand Slam title. He continued to work hard and improve his game. In 2007, he was playing the best tennis of his career. He won his second ATP title in February and reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in January.

However, Draper's dream of a Grand Slam title would never be realized. In August, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor was found to be malignant, and Draper was given only a few months to live.

Draper's diagnosis shocked the tennis world. Players and fans alike were devastated by the news. Draper was a popular player who was known for his fighting spirit and determination. He was also a role model for young players, showing them that it is possible to overcome adversity and achieve their dreams.

Draper faced his illness with the same courage and determination that he had shown on the court. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy, and he continued to fight until the very end. Draper passed away on December 27, 2007, at the age of 33.

Draper's death was a tragic loss for the tennis world. He was a talented player who had the potential to be one of the best in the world. He was also a role model and an inspiration to young players. Draper's legacy will live on through the many people he touched both on and off the court.

The Scott Draper Foundation

In honor of Scott Draper, his family and friends established the Scott Draper Foundation. The foundation's mission is to provide financial assistance to young tennis players who are facing financial hardship. The foundation also provides support to cancer research and treatment.

The Scott Draper Foundation has helped many young tennis players over the years. The foundation has provided financial assistance to players who have lost their parents, who are facing medical expenses, or who are simply struggling to afford the costs of playing tennis.

The Scott Draper Foundation has also made significant contributions to cancer research and treatment. The foundation has funded research into new treatments for brain tumors and has provided support to cancer patients and their families.

The Scott Draper Foundation is a fitting legacy to a great tennis player and a wonderful human being. The foundation is helping to make a difference in the lives of young tennis players and cancer patients. Scott Draper's legacy will live on through the foundation's work.
